We had an amazing feast last night at Haku and can’t wait to return to try more of the menu.
The eggplant was a highlight and the crispy bread tuna sashimi.

Nice location, tricky with parking. Nice open spaces. Staff were friendly. Can either order through staff or QR code app. The food was average. We got the karaage, kingfish and sashmi taco. I would have wanted the raw food to come out first … More

Extraordinary and delicate food. My partner and I ordered different Japanese foods and each dish was superb in taste. I liked the perfect blend of contrasting tastes using a variety of vegetables, sauces, fish and seafood 🍤🦑
I ordered sake which was beautiful with the food.
The staff was kind and efficient.
The outdoor area is quite and pleasant.

One word: wow.It was, as people often say, an explosion of flavours, and the atmosphere made the whole experience feel so much more scrumptious. All the dishes were well seasoned and the dishes were served with top-class perfection. With such high standards for both the food and the atmosphere, the price was reasonable. Must come to this restaurant. Best Japanese restaurant in Sydney!

I had lunch at Haku last weekend and tried the Chicken Teriyaki, Gyoza, and the Miso Egg Flame Bites.
The Miso Eggplant Bites were crunchy and delicious, and the chicken Teriyaki bowl was incredibly tender and generous position.
The service was fast, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant.
I definitely come back again.

Excellent food and very welcoming. We were able to sit outside with our puppy and they allowed us to bring a cake from Messina. Table service would make it a bit more relaxing, but it was pretty good service considering how few staff were there.

We recently enjoyed a delicious meal at Haku, in the Newmarket complex, Randwick.
The staff are pleasant and kindly answered questions we had regarding the menu.
It wasn’t busy on the night we visited so food came out quickly.
The food was flavoursome and textured as expected.
I particularly was looking forward to the chicken katsu curry which did not disappoint.
Haku is great for casual dining with friends or even on your own… but go and bring your friends and support a good, little local restaurant.

We were in the area, it was late, we were hungry and we wanted Japanese food. Luckily for us we stumbled upon this place. There was a decent variety of items on the menu from which we ordered the Yuzu Karage Chicken Donburi, Tofu and Vegetable Udon, Salmon Sashimi, Mini Cucumber rolls and the Hiramasa Kingfish.
The Hiramasa Kingfish was absolutely fantastic. The sauce was so tasty and putting a little bit of everything in one bite was delicious. I'm not a chilli person but that little slice of chili helped to make that dish more tasty and it wasn't too hot.
The Udon was very nice. The broth was flavourful but not salty, like you get at other places, and the noodles nice and chewy.
Salmon sashimi was nice and fresh but what I really appreciated about it is the thickness of each slice. I've noticed that at many other Japanese restaurants we've been to lately, the Sashimi is being sliced thin. So same price like other restaurants, just as fresh (if not more so) but the thickness makes the meal so much nicer.
The Yuzu Karage was a wonderful dish. The chicken was crispy with a thin batter and the pieces were juicy. Drizzled on top was a Yuzu mayonnaise and in the rice was (I think) fried onions that were also nice and crispy. My only slight criticism about this dish (for me) is that the rice was a little dry.
The service was nice but when we first arrived the waitress rolled her eyes when we asked for a table. But they were open for at least another 30 minutes and they're we're still other customers,. So what's with the attitude? Other than that, the service was good.

Haku Japanese Restaurant delivers great food with friendly service.
We had a couple of poke bowls along with some edamame and everything was fresh and tasty. Pricing is pretty standard for the area making it an easy and reliable choice.
I’d happily come back again.

The soba dish ordered was similar to those I've had many times. This one has excellent tofu, but way too few veg, way too much mirin or maybe sugar in the otherwise indistinguishable broth. The soba were tragically overcooked.
The service was functional but not friendly, especially with so few customers around. More

Amazing Chicken Karaage – A Hidden Gem!
I recently discovered Haku, and I have to say it’s a hidden gem! The chicken karaage was absolutely amazing – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The seasoning was perfect, and it came with a delicious dipping sauce that complemented the dish so well. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were friendly, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a must-try for anyone craving authentic, top-notch Japanese food. Highly recommend!
